  • So much to do

There doesn't seem to be enough time in the day anymore.  I guess that is what happens when you buy a house:)  I'm still unpacking and trying to get things organized into the right spaces.  Jer made a comment the other day about running out of space (I think he was joking), I'm sure once we have everything put away it won't seem that way anymore.  We haven't put a single box up into the third floor dormer so I know we're not running out of space quite yet.  As we are settling in we are slowly finding things that are not in working condition.  Know anyone who can fix a dishwasher?

We are both enjoying our new place so much.  We have met all of our neighbors and have a few young families around.  It seems like everyone I know has baby girls and our new friends are no different.  One family down the street has 6 children...only 1 boy! Jeremiah keeps saying Elijah will have his pick of girls when he gets older, I guess the apple doesn't fall far from that tree!!!!LOL.

Here are a few pictures of the house the day we moved in and before it was full of our furniture

Our kitchen needed lots of cleaning, I spent two solid days scrubbing it.

The house needs a lot of tlc, but we'll turn it around eventually.

Our friends Jason and Havilah live just across the street.  She brought us our first housewarming gift:

    My first borrowed egg.

I love the picture and what it symbolizes.  We are so thankful for them and for the opportunity to live so near.  We just hope we don't make them crazy and drive them out of the neighborhood!

    Well thats all for now.

  • Too many things

Many things have happened since my last post.  Elijah and I have spent 3 of the last 25 days at home.  It's good to be back home.

In March we flew to CA for my grandfathers funeral.  My grandfather was an incredible man who lived a long and beautiful life.  He had an impact on everyone he met.  I was blessed to have known him.  My sister and I were grateful to be at his funeral to celebrate his life.  Elijah was the life of the party, a baby will do that to a room full of oldies:)

My folks are both from CA so we were able to visit my dad's parents while we were there.  We spent an afternoon in downtown LA, ate lunch and went to the farmers market. IMG_2302

All are aboard and heading for home2

All aboard! We took a trolley back to our car.

After spending a week in CA I was home for a couple of days before I went to spend a week with my folks.  We all had a great time.  As much as they love being grandparents I'm sure they were ready for us to leave - a week with an infant is not that easy. I left there to spend the weekend house sitting for some friends of ours in Ann Arbor.

So now we're home and having a day of relaxation before the craziness really begins. Jeremiah and I bought a house.  We close at the end of April and there is lots of packing to be done.  We are so excited to finally have a place to call home.  We love Grand Rapids and the community of friends and family we have here.  I can't wait to move in! Here is a picture of our new home.

It's an older home with all of the amazing woodwork and wood floors.  We'll have some work to do to make it our own, but that is the fun part!  We love the location - close to the library, post office, Jer's work and church.

We would love to have visitors, but give us a few weeks to settle in first!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter holiday!

  • Today I started playing fetch with our dog Dakota and Elijah found the situation very comical.  Jeremiah and I have never heard him laugh like this before, so we got out the new video camera and shot a few minutes of it all.  I've never tried to post a video before, I hope it works.

Hearing him laugh is an incredible joy to me, I could watch this video over and over, I hope you enjoy it as well.
